Adding Text to The Image

You can add personalized messages or copyright information in the image by adding text overlays. Once saved, text overlays become a permanent part of the image and can not be re-edited or removed. To learn how to save editable textual information with the image, see Adding File Comments.

To add text in the image

  1. Open the image in the View & Edit area
  2. Choose Image > Add Text
  3. If there is selection in the image, you will be prompted to de-select the selection. Press Yes to enter the effect mode
  4. In the control panel on the left, you can select the font, size, color, and text styles
  5. You can enter multiple lines of text in the text area
  6. Click OK to accept the text, or Cancel to exit the effect mode without adding the text

As you make adjustments, you can preview the text with the image in the main window area. You can also move it using the Move tool .

If the image is in indexed color mode and the selected color is not in the palette, a nearest color will be used for the text. You will see a warning message in the message pane at the bottom of the main window when the color substitution occurs.
