Introduction to Animation

An animation consists of multiple frames that are to be played in sequence. Frame properties determine how long each frame lasts and how it is removed once it has played.

MagicViewer lets you work with images and animations seamlessly in the same work area. The Animation pane automatically appears on the left of the main window when an animation is opened or created. This pane contains the animation toolbar that lets you play, stop, step to the previous or next frame, and edit frame properties. It also displays a thumbnail of each frame in the animation, where you can drag and drop one or more frames to re-order them.

You can create an animation from existing still images or modify an animation using the following methods.

  • To add a new frame, choose Animation > Insert > New Frame. A new empty frame will be added after the current frame.
  • To add one or more image files to the animation, choose Animation > Insert > Insert File. This brings up the Import Sequence of Files dialog box.
  • To duplicate an existing frame, choose Animation > Create Duplicates . A dialog box opens allowing you to choose the number of duplicates of the current frame.
  • To remove one or more frames in the animation, select the frames you want to remove in the animation pane, then choose Animation > Remove Frames.
