Drop Shadow Effect

Drop Shadow effect makes an image look as if it were floating above the display surface. You can adjust the distance off the image, opacity, softness, and the color of the drop shadow.

To add a drop shadow to an image

  1. Open the image in the View & Edit area
  2. If the image is not RGB full color mode, use Color > Convert Color Mode To > RGB Full Color to change the color mode
  3. You need to make a selection in the image in order to use the drop shadow effect, if you want to add a drop shadow to the whole image choose Select > All
  4. Adjust the X and Y Offset sliders to move the drop shadow around the image. Positive values move the shadow to the right and down. Larger values move the shadow further away from the image
  5. Adjust the Opacity and Softness sliders to control the appearance of the drop shadow
  6. Select a shadow color by first clicking inside the color rectangle to bring up the Color dialog box, and choosing a color in the dialog box
