Emboss Effect

Emboss effect makes an image look as if it were engraved onto a flat surface. You can adjust the angles of the light source relative to the center of the image surface to  control the resulting look of the effect.

To create the Emboss effect

  1. Open the image in the View & Edit area
  2. Select the areas in the image you want to blur, or you can blur the whole image when there is no selection
  3. Choose Image > Effects > Emboss
  4. If the image is not in Grayscale or RGB full color mode, you will be prompted to convert the color mode, press YES to enter the effect mode for the Emboss effect
  5. Use the Azimuth slider to move the light source from the left side (0°), counter-clockwise for a complete circle (360°)
  6. Use the Elevation slider to move the light source from the horizon (0°) to directly above the image (90°), when this angle is at 90° the Azimuth slider has no effect on the image
