Adding File Comments

You can use the File Comments feature to add descriptions or copyright information for the image. File comments are saved with the image and can be re-edited and removed without changing the image itself. MagicViewer reads and writes file comments in JPEG, GIF, TIFF and PNG formats.

To add, edit, and remove file comments in the image, choose Edit > Comments. This brings up the 'Edit Comment' dialog box where you can type in the comments.

You can embed the file name, date and time when the file was last saved, using the keywords <Filename>, <Date> and <Time> in the comments. MagicViewer translates the keywords including the brackets, '<' and '>', into the actual values.

You can also setup a personal signature and use it when you save JPEG and GIF files using the 'Use personal signature' comment option. Using this option will replace the original file comments with your personal signature. To set up the personal signature, choose File > Preferences > Personal Signature.

File comments can be optionally displayed at the bottom of the image in the document window. You can show and hide the comments display by choosing View > Display File Comments. Web addresses in file comments are displayed as hypertext linking directly to the Web page they point to.
