| Opening & Saving Images |
|
There are many ways to open images in MagicViewer. You can drag and drop image files onto MagicViewer's main window while in the View & Edit area, or use one of the following methods: Using File Open dialog box Choose File > Open to bring up the File Open dialog box that is common to all Windows applications where you can navigate to the folder containing the files you want to open. You can then click on a single file and press the Open button to open the file, or use the Ctrl and Shift keys while clicking on multiple files and press the Open button to open multiple files at once. Using Favorite folders MagicViewer allows you to set up folders that you use frequently into Favorites. To add or organize your favorite folders, choose File > Organize Favorites. You can open files in one of your favorite folders directly by choosing File > Open In Favorites and choose a folder that you have set up previously. Browsing for images MagicViewer has a built-in image browser that you can use to browse and open image files. To use the image browser, choose File > Browse Photos or click on the Browse tab. Saving images Once you have made changes in the image, you can save the modified image by using File > Save. You can also use the Save As and Save a Copy As commands to save the modified image to a different file. MagicViewer saves empty spaces in the canvas as transparent pixels if the file format supports transparency or alpha channel. If the file format does not support this feature, it will fill the empty spaces with the background fill color before saving the image. You can use Image > Fit Canvas to Image to compact the canvas and remove the surrounding empty spaces. Not all file formats support every attributes of the image, such as color modes, transparency and file comments. See this topic to learn more about choosing the right file format for your image. |
